The combustion of all types of fossil fuels (industrial sites, gas, factory chimneys, private homes, etc.) currently accounts for nearly 80% of global greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The consequences are well known: global warming, soil degradation, and climate change.

With the aim of contributing to the massive reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and to the necessary energy transition, several Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have launched ambitious plans to promote green hydrogen.
